Business Overview

The Apsaras 10 Concert was held at Suntory Hall Blue Rose in December 2020. The Apsaras 9 Concert (Evening of All String Quartets) was highly acclaimed by the audience, and as an evolutionary and centripetal continuation, the Apsaras Concert was held with a group of works on the theme of trio as a new "Evening of Trio." The "Apsaras" honors the works of composer Teizo Matsumura and aims to open new horizons for music through performances by Apsaras members and Matsumura Prize winners. In addition, the Matsumura Prize (commemorating the 90 year anniversary of the birth of Teizo Matsumura) was established and continued as a "new composition competition" that has become valuable in recent years, and a new type of competition and concert was realized in which unpublished works were widely invited and winning works selected by a music score examination were presented together with works by Teizo Matsumura and Apsaras members. The following works were performed on the day. Hiroto Yachimura: Muses No. 1, "Tsuki no michi" (Road of the Moon) - for three players (Flute, viola, piano) Mitsushi Fukumaru: "Figres II" - for vibraphone, viola and cello Jun Koda: "Rhapsody" for flute, cello and piano Tsuneo Nakata: "Whirlpools" (Violin, cello, piano) Hiroshi Takahashi: "Gensho" Trio for clarinet, bass clarinet, violin, viola and piano Chiharu Wakabayashi: "Ki, Lin, Mori ・・・ Teikyo" - for flute, viola and harp Ryotaro Abe: "Sekai-no-Kaze No. 5" (Violin, cello, piano) Teizo Matsumura: "Apsaras no Niwa" (Flute, Violin, Piano)
