Business Overview

Waruri painting workshop (A), mural painting (B), and live painting with Mr. Yusuke Asai (C) were conducted by the Waieda brothers. A was conducted at three sites. It was held four times at Tsumori Library in Chofu City. The Waieda brothers gave a lecture on the culture of the Waruri people through videos and explanations of the works on display to deepen understanding of Waruri painting. Using the essence of walleye paintings, each artist created a walleye under the theme of nature in everyday life, with the title “Ancient Forest ” as the base. It was also held at Fuchu City Fourth Elementary School (60 students) and Fuchu Ninth Elementary School (71 students). B was carried out on the wall of the Tzomori Library from August 19 to September 5. There were many visitors and there was a two-way communication with the artist. C used charcoal, which was brought by Yusuke Asai and had never been used before by the Waieda brothers. They live-streamed the production on Instagram, including talks during the production.

Profile

【 NPO Wall Art Project 】
Wall Art Project has held an international art festival “Wall Art Festival (WAF) ” in rural areas of India and schools in Japan since 2010. Through the artists' residencies and workshops, they have brought awareness to everyday life, and by shaking the reality that seems to be taken for granted, they have brought change to each individual. Through the medium of art, people can look at the land and environment where they were born and raised, and develop a healthy sense of identity. This will increase the number of citizens who can affirm themselves and recognize others, and realize a society where diverse values coexist.
