Business Overview

Dancer and choreographer Setsuko Yamada and up-and-coming young director, choreographer and dancer Midori Kurata produce a dance performance project called "Shiroyato Kuroyato: If It's Not a Will, If It's Not a Eulogy". Yamada studied improvised dance under Ei KASAI, and after he became independent, he developed his own dance world centering on solo dance and acted as a pioneer of contemporary dance. On the other hand, Kurata continues to create works that explore the possibilities of "dance" by confronting himself and others in each work, and using the stage structure to raise the events that occur as fiction. 15 years ago, the 2 met as teachers and students, and today they are working in seemingly different directions. This project was born out of a 15 year process by 2 people who have been talking with each other for a long time as people who are involved in dance and the stage. They looked at each other's differences and sympathies and made it into a dance work. Composition/Actors: Setsuko Yamada, Midori Kurata Stage Directors: Natsumi Hasuko Lighting: Asako Miura Sound: Mitsunori Miyata Video: Kohei Kitagawa Production: Maki Miyakubo, Yoshimi Toyoyama Advertising art, website, booklet design: Goruyuki Kodama
