Business Overview
This project was started in 2016 with the aim of creating an environment where people with hearing impairments and normal people can enjoy the same performance together. The Deaf Theater Company of Japan, which has a high reputation for its sign language kyogen both at home and abroad, was invited to perform a sign language kyogen ichiban from its representative repertoire, and a noh ichiban with simultaneous sign language interpretation by the troupe members was held for the first time in the noh world. In 2019, the 4th performance, the Noh play "Funa Benkei," which was performed last year with a new sign language interpretation script, was further refined and performed. It is a performance that continues to evolve year by year by devising noh sign language expressions and the performers themselves perform in sign language. It also aims to complete a theater-going service for the hearing-impaired by introducing a tactile sound system provided by audio manufacturer Pioneer and providing sign language interpretation and tactile experience.
