Business Overview
This project focuses on both the background culture, thought, and art of Agnes Martin, an artist who represents 20 century American art, and the practice of artists who followed her, and examines and shows the transdisciplinarity and universality of her "heritage" through international research and production activities. Specifically, I held a solo exhibition in the United States called ("the night falls and the day breaks|") and presented my work, which has deepened as a result of inheriting it. I also opened an online space called (ROOM TO ROOM FOR FUTURE MEMORIES.scattered) and published texts and works that show my repeated conversations with artists and researchers. Prior to undertaking this project, I focused on Martin's "abstract expression" as a suggestion for my artistic task ("the expression of the untranslatable"), and it showed a rich breadth that transcended the boundaries of any particular period, region, or field. I believe that the artistic and social significance of the project can be found in the fact that it reconsiders this as "heritage" in a broad sense, clarifies the consciousness of peaceful and creative "space" that underlies the project, and shows it in a concrete form in today's increasingly divided world.
