Business Overview

Talk sessions, translation workshops, readings and symposiums by leading play translators. Conducted once a month for 3 consecutive months since October 2021. The authors featured in each edition were Simon Stevens, Tennessee Williams and Tom Stoppard. We will share the appeal of theater by sharing practical words such as what it is like to translate a play, why we translate classics anew, and what is the pleasure of translating a play.

Profile

[Hiromasa Kiuchi]
Born in Tokyo. He was a stage director, playwright, and translator of plays. After working as a student theater troupe and a small theater troupe, he was involved in joint productions with foreign directors and artists at Theater Project Tokyo, scripts for works directed by Tamiya Kuriyama, translations for works directed by Hirotaka Kumabayashi, and joint productions for works directed by Kazumi Kushida. Won the 7th Odajima Yushi Translation Drama Award. In 2021, Translation Matters was established. He is currently the representative director.
