Business Overview
At the 9th Tenrai Noh Association, a new Noh play "Bohyoka" written by the late Tomio Tada (professor emeritus of immunology at the University of Tokyo) was performed in cooperation with the traditional Japanese Noh play and the traditional Korean Noh play. In the 1930s, when Korea was under Japanese colonial rule, the wife of a young Korean who was taken to Japan and died as a result of forced labor in a coal mine in Kyushu, is the protagonist of the novel. Time passes and the wife, now an old woman, reads a letter from a young man brought by a Japanese monk and dances remembering the past. In this project, Kanji SHIMIZU, a Noh actor who has been frequently involved in the production of "Bogre Uta" since its premiere in 1993, played the main role and was also in charge of directing. It was the first time in history that Noh and agricultural music were jointly performed, and it was significant that "Mohyuka" was performed by Japanese and Korean performing arts and that the exchange of performing arts took place. In the performance, traditional performing arts such as kyogen and agricultural music were performed in addition to "Bohyoka," and the characteristics of each were revealed. A total of seven workshops were held for the general public to deeply appreciate the performance.

Profile
Tenrai Noh Association
Nohgaku-kata (supporting actor) Noboru Yasuda, flute-kata Satoshi TSUKITAKE, and kyogen-kata Kentaro OKUTSU are members of this performance group. The first performance was held in 2010 with the aim of exploring the raison d'etre and new possibilities of Nohgaku (Noh and Kyogen) in modern times, and with the aim of letting many people deeply know and enjoy Nohgaku, 9 performances had been held by the end of 2021. His attempts to rediscover Nohgaku from a unique perspective and his ability to communicate have been highly evaluated. It is also a feature that workshops on various themes are held before and after the performance.
