Profile
[Masamichi Kinoshita]
Born 1969 in Ono, Fukui. After experience in brass band and hard rock, he studied music at Tokyo Gakugei University. After entering university, he played in free jazz, group improvisation and comedy bands. He received honorable mention for Toru TAKEMITSU Composition Award in 2001, Encouragement Award for Creative Creation of Performing Arts by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2002, and Genon Newcomer Award in 2003. At present, he has three main activities: composing music by commission or joint planning by various groups and individuals, planning concerts with the cooperation of excellent musicians, and improvising music using electric devices used in unusual ways. He has also been invited to participate in projects by many cutting-edge young composers and musicians.
