Business Overview

The Art Brut 2021 Viewing, Creating and Connecting Exhibition aims to create a "connecting" exhibition that takes into account not only the viewpoints of "creating" but also those of "viewing," such as the artist's obsession with expression activities and the changes in awareness and values of viewers. With a focus on nine artists who have continued their work even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibition focuses on past works and artists, and looks back on their past activities. * Art Brut is expressed as "the art of life," and is a work of art created with an original method and idea, without being bound by conventional methods of expression.

Profile

[Musashino Art Brut Executive Committee]
The Musashino Art Brut Executive Committee holds an art exhibition in July every year with the participation of citizens as the main members of the executive committee. It started with a public exhibition in 2017, followed by planned exhibitions in 2018 and 2019, and will be held for the fifth time in 2021. In fiscal 2021, under the theme of "seeing, creating, and connecting," the exhibition aims to create a "connecting" exhibition that takes into account the viewpoints of not only the "creating" side but also the "viewing" side, such as the artist's obsession with expression activities and changes in the viewers' awareness and sense of values. The exhibition will focus on the nine artists who have continued their work even during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as their past works and artists, and will be organized as a culmination of the past five years.
