Business Overview
It is a representative work of the myth of shamanism handed down from ancient times in Korea. It is a performance of a musical dance drama based on an original script based on the myth of Princess Bali and a production based on Nohgaku, and a collaboration of dance, music and storytelling based on the techniques of Japanese and Korean classical performing arts. Along with the performance, lecture workshops on Korean dance, music, Noh music and shimai will be held. 【 Hiroya Imai 】
He learned Nohgaku from his grandfather when he was a child, and debuted on stage in his teens. Later, he became a trainee at the National Noh Theater and graduated from the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, and after performing on many Noh stages, he went to France to study contemporary drama and contemporary dance. He received the Outstanding Director Award of the Japan Stagehands Association.
As a performer with a local and global physicality, she has appeared in various stages from contemporary drama to contemporary dance, from the works of French choreographers such as Philippe Ducuffre and Pascal Hubin, to the conceptual stage works of Jerome Bell's "Chartology (Solo)" and "Show Must Go On," and London's "Circumstance". In Japan, she has appeared on the stage directed by Kazumi Kushida, Nao Kato, Man Ikuta, Osamu Matsumoto, Yukio Shiba, Momoko Shirakami, and the rare mushroom dance troupe, Yukari Ota (Ludens), Nibrole, OM-2, PortB, etc. He manages the art performance unit Megaro Theater. He is the representative of the Silk Road Noh Association. Active as a director. We also actively participate in outreach activities and hold workshops at facilities for persons with disabilities and elementary, middle and high schools. In Japan and abroad, he has written, directed, and performed many new Noh plays based on myths and folklore.
He is also active as a free kotsuzumi player in Japan and abroad, transcending genres. From classical to jazz to modern music, he pursues the potential of kotsuzumi performance to the extreme with his powerful voice and tsuzumi tone.
