Business Overview
Beuys on/off is a multidisciplinary art project commemorating the 100 year anniversary of Joseph Boyce's birth. One of the most influential and controversial artists of the late 20 century, Boyce served as a correspondent in the German army during World War II and began his career as an artist after the war. Against the backdrop of the post-war Cold War, Boyce advocated an expanded concept of art and was actively involved in education, the environment, economic and political issues. More than 30 years have passed since Boyce came to Japan in 1984, and now Beuys on/off is trying to answer to Boyce from Eurasia. Forming a network of artists, musicians, activists, writers, domestic workers and researchers working in Eurasia, beuys on/off critically reinterprets the multifaceted work of Voice, connects it to the issues we face today and updates Voice's artistic practice through online and offline channels.
