Business Overview

With shochu brought to Japan from Thailand via the Ryukyu Kingdom as its motif, this work focuses on the history of Ryukyu and its surrounding area around the 15 century, when it served as a window between Japan and Asian countries. Based on the hypothesis that Okinawa is still Japan's gateway to the world, we conducted research in the Ryukyu Islands and Thailand. Based on a research collaboration with Mark Tae, it is an opportunity to reread modern and contemporary post-war Asian history and rediscover the history of Japan and Asia. The German art festival Festival Teaterformen, which was scheduled to present a theatrical work in July 2020, was rescheduled to be held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As Yudai Kamisato's first online work, he presented short works in three parts in three different formats: audio, text, and video. Script/Direction: Yudai Kamisato, Co-Research: Mark Tae Actors: Sumire Urata, Hikaru Morioka, Hideaki Washio, Jaarnan Pantachert, Maiko Yamamoto
