Business Overview
An art festival in the downtown area where shinagaya culture is alive. The Sumida-Mukaijima area in Tokyo, where the relationship with neighbors still lives, has survived the ravages of war and has continued to evolve along with its nagaya culture. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the relationship between people, space, and time is being questioned, and that is why we held the “Sumida-Mukaijima EXPO 2020 ” hands-on art festival. This exhibition takes advantage of approximately 40 venues in the Hikifune area of Sumida Ward (Sumida Lifelong Learning Center Utoriya, Shichiken Nagaya, Oguraya, about 20 nagaya and art spaces, and about 18 spaces under the eaves).

【 Sumida Mukaijima EXPO 2020 Executive Committee 】
In the 82 day Kyojima row house project which was held for 82 days from January 2018, various events were carried out around 29 row houses which were decided to be demolished, and through 4 row house symposiums, there was a momentum to do something. From September to December 2019, "Mukaijima International Design Workshop 2019" will be held and activities will start as the base of EXPO. Sumida Mukaijima EXPO 2020 was held in September 2020.
