Business Overview

Artist Miya Nishio was invited to the art project "Sensei-no-Washo in Ginza". Under the theme of Ginza fashion × alleyways, participants changed the landscape of Ginza by washing and hanging laundry in parks and public spaces. By creating a participatory place to approach the fashion culture that has been handed down through generations in Ginza from the perspective of an artist, this project aims to rethink "attire" as a culture and the utilization of public spaces such as alleys and parks, and to create a new power of transmission in Ginza. In advance, clothes were collected from people who live and work in Ginza, and on the day of the event, there was a performance of hand-washing and drying laundry while moving through the many small alleys in Ginza, an installation exhibition and workshop in Sukiyabashi Park, and an artist talk. Visitors toured the streets of Ginza with a map in hand, viewing not only the Sukiyabashi Park exhibit but also an installation display of laundry hung to dry in alleys by a performance.
