Business Overview
Cherfitsch performed his new work "Eraser Mountain" for the first time in three years at the NYU Skirball Center, which is known for one of New York's most cutting-edge programs. It was the first overseas performance after the world premiere at the Kyoto Experiment in October 2019. In addition to incorporating "visual theater," which Cherfitsch has been focusing on since 2018, he tried a new approach to actors' bodies and speech. "Eraser Mountain" Concept: A play about how human activities are in many cases based on human scale. The aim is to present a completely new theatrical way of thinking by breaking away from the anthropocentric approach and giving agency to objects. In collaboration with artist Teppei Kim, who dynamically reinterprets and visualizes everyday objects and the layers latent in their images, the concept of this work is embodied in a clearer yet unpredictable way. Writer and director: Toshinori OKADA, cenography: Tetsuhei KANEUJI
