Business Overview
■The exhibition "WOOD LIKE" Precise images as traditional techniques prevail, but modern artists incorporate woodblock prints in their works in various ways, and their styles vary from person to person. This exhibition was planned by Misaki Oguro and is composed of three artists (Misaki Oguro, Nieto Alberto, Satoshi Yamazaki) who spend time with their works and experience the act of making them. ■ Workshop "Smartphone to Woodblock Printing" Although a computer requires special software, recently a smartphone application can be used for everything from shooting to editing and processing. We learned how to easily process images and used the processed images as preliminary sketches to create woodblock prints. ■ Symposium "Discussing the Future of Woodblock Printing" Because woodblock prints are so familiar to Japanese people, their impressions are fixed and interest in them has waned.
