Business Overview
Based on the concept of "collecting stars in the case of the heart," the Hoshi-Kako Project aims to share quality time with people through experiential artistic expression that makes use of the environment, and develops creative and performance activities nationwide. And this time, as the first music performance of 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT Gallary3, "Hoshikyo 〜 Circulating Garden of Four Seasons" was announced. Tadao Ando's triangular architecture is likened to an urban cave, and natural phenomena and environmental elements such as the calendar and sunlight are incorporated into the unique space, and "Circulating Time" is designed as a spatial music work that takes an entire day. The presentation consists of two day and night concerts and a sound installation, featuring four scenes of classical gagaku music “Choshi, ” an AI programming version of Toru Takemitsu's“ Four Seasons ” (first performance), Tamami Higashino's “Gaze Up at the Bright Sun, ” and a new piece commissioned by Dai Fujikura called“ Obi ” (first performance). In addition, Rei Kunimoto's “Iki ” was added in the installation, and different expressions and impressions of the music were expressed by the appearance of the space according to the ambient light and temperature that changes with time. The unique acoustic effects of the Sho, a gagaku instrument with 1000 years of history in Japan, and the three-dimensional acoustic design (ZAK), including a super-directional speaker (Shiro Takatani), were confronted, and together with technological innovation, they succeeded in bringing out the full potential of the space. The exhibition was well received by visitors from different genres, including foreigners, and opened up new perspectives and possibilities as a spatial art expression that takes visitors into the womb of the sound.
