Business Overview
■Content: As a theatrical performance for people with physical disabilities, we pursue our own reality by making bold casting of a very famous piece of modern American drama. The game features four characters. Laura and her mother, Amanda, have bad legs. My brother Tom worries about his sister. And the young gentleman Jim who shows up there. This time, a 18 year-old actor in a wheelchair with muscular dystrophy was cast as the main character, Laura. The first scene is a workshop, with various actors, but as the story progresses, it transforms into a theater, with the mother Amanda being played by an actress in her seventies and the younger brother Tom being played by an actress in her fifties who is a facilitator. In the last scene, the two actresses play the role of young gentleman Jim in one role, which shows the multifaceted charm of young gentleman. The story ends with Laura in a wheelchair being thoroughly injured by these two women, Jim. ■ Outlook: As a future development, we would like to hold workshop-style shows under the name of workshop theater with people working in communities such as resident theater groups, NPOs, and workplaces of welfare facilities around Japan. I believe that it will be a place to find a deeper interest in theater, deepen horizontal ties among local communities, and find the meaning of living together with diverse people. ■ Performers: Shure Daigaku Nanari Kikaku, Kyoko Yamaguchi, Junko Kurashina, Kei Hirota
