Business Overview

The artist collective "Chim ↑ Pom" has been working on this long term project since 2008. The exhibition has been used to examine the themes of “atomic bombs/war, ”“ peace, ” “modern society, ” and“ expression, ” while updating the exhibition site and the times. His first exhibition was held in 2009 at VACANT in Harajuku, where he exhibited his works and "Hiroshima!" for the first time. In conjunction with the exhibition, he also published Why the Sky of Hiroshima Shouldn't Be Sparkled. Since then, "Hiroshima Exhibition" has been called "! One by one, he traveled from Tokyo (HIROSHIMA!!) to Seoul (HIROSHIMA!!!) and then to the Maruki Museum of Art (LEVEL 7 feat. "HIROSHIMA!!!!"). In 2013, he held his largest-ever solo exhibition, "HIROSHIMA!!!!" at the former Bank of Japan Hiroshima Branch, a building that survived the atomic bombing. Although not specifically called a Hiroshima exhibition, works on the theme of Hiroshima have been shown in London, Busan, and Dallas. This is the sixth Hiroshima exhibition in New York, and the scale of the exhibition has been further increased.

Profile

[Chim ↑ Pom]
An artist group formed in Tokyo in 2005 by Ryuta Ushiro, Yasutaka Hayashi, Erii, Masataka Okada, Tsutomu Inaoka, and Toshinori Mizuno. Reacting to the reality of the times with reflexes, he released a series of works with strong social messages that intervened with modern society with all his might.
Focusing on video works, he expresses himself by freely crossing media such as installation and performance. While based in Tokyo, he has participated in exhibitions around the world and developed various projects overseas.
In recent years, he has expanded his activities to include supervising art magazines and curating exhibitions.
