Business Overview
Jiuta, which was born in Kyoto and Osaka in the early Edo period, is a classical performing art with the longest history of shamisen music, and was actively created and played by blind musicians together with sokyoku, and has been handed down over three centuries to generations of performers. The “Jiuta Hungary Performance ” was held in the 150 year anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Commerce between Japan and the Austrian and Hungarian Dual Empires. They added shakuhachi solo music to the representative songs of jiuta sokyoku and held performances in all four cities, including the capital Budapest, using performers who have inherited the classical art style. Before and after the concert on the day of each performance, workshops were held to introduce the tones, playing techniques, and functions of traditional Japanese instruments such as the sangen, koto, and shakuhachi. For the opening of the event, English explanations such as the history of jiuta and sokyoku, introduction of songs, and introduction of performers were added to the distributed pamphlets to deepen the understanding of jiuta.
