Profile

Aoyama Gakuin University Singularity Institute
Deep learning in artificial intelligence (AI) is evolving dramatically, and it is predicted that AI will develop further, leading to a technological singularity that surpasses human intelligence. Although AI is still being developed and applied vigorously in many institutions, research on how such technological progress will affect human society and what kind of legal and social systems should be constructed in order to make people more prosperous is very slow. The Institute was established in FY 2018 to examine various issues in the AI era from the fields of humanities and social sciences in order to improve this situation. Major activities to date include holding a series of keynote lectures (11 times) inviting people active in industry, and holding lectures on AI from various perspectives, "AI Liberal Arts Seminar."
