Business Overview
Held annually in Cologne, Germany, Ahatbrücken is an international music festival focusing on contemporary music. In 2019, concert performances were held in various parts of Cologne for two weeks under the theme "City/Return". This time, Travel Musica (Performers: Rie Takeuchi, Saki Tobayama, Noriaki Mori, Yuka Yamazaki, Rie Watanabe, Daniel Agi, Karl Rothmann, Dirk Rothbrust), which aims to perform and archive the works of Yuya Honda, a unique composer who died young, has been invited by the organizers to perform in two all-day free concerts on May 1 and May 4. Together with the youth brass band YBB NRW, they held street performances of Honda's works, which combine popular music from Japan and Eastern Europe with contemporary music in a unique way, concerts at churches including the world premiere of a new work by composer Yosuke Nomoto, and related projects included traditional Japanese instruments (lecturer: Takinojo MOCHIZUKI) and composing workshops for children.

Profile
[Travel Musica]
Yuya Honda (1977-2004), a rare performer as well as a composer, suddenly passed away at the young age of 26, despite drawing expectations for his rare talent. "TRAVEL MUSICA" is a project started by percussionist Rie Watanabe in 2014 to introduce the works of Yuya Honda to the world from various angles and pass them on to future generations. He organizes concerts and workshops in Japan and Germany, makes audio and documentary films, and collaborates with contemporary artists and Yuya Honda. At the same time, it also operates the “Yuya Honda Works Sorting Room ” which produces digital archives of Yuya Honda's musical scores and sound sources, introduces them, and gives advice.
