Profile
[Tokyo Kagurazaka Kumiai]
The organization was changed from Ushigome Sangyokai, which was the front line of our union, to Tokyo Kagurazaka Kumiai, which is made up of geisha unions and Japanese-style restaurants. The Kagurazaka Odori was started in 1963 as the Ushigome Satsuki-kai, and was held every 1 to 3 years until 1993. After a period of suspension, it was restarted in 1999 as the Hana no kai, and in 2007 the name was changed back to Kagurazaka Odori. This year marks the 36 th anniversary. In 2011, "Kagurazaka Odori" was designated as a regional cultural property of Shinjuku Ward.
