Business Overview

This year marks 50 years since the 20 stringed Soh was created in 1969 as a Soh rooted in tradition that still lives today. However, the traditional image of koto still remains deeply rooted among ordinary Japanese. This project aims at a new start by wiping away such image. There is a world of colorful sounds that is different from other plucked stringed instruments such as harps and guitars, and I wanted to express that the world of sokyoku should not be confined to the narrow frame of a traditional Japanese instrument, but that it is an instrument with the individuality and potential to express anything.
