Business Overview
In fiscal 2018, the annual theme was "transcending" and 3 performances were held to propose overcoming the 3 "barriers" of "appreciation," "human barriers" and "religious barriers". In the 63 edition, we tried to overcome the barrier between creativity and acceptance by presenting the conflict between esotericism and populism caused by the change of paradigm by taking up works that are difficult to appreciate. By entrusting the soloists' expressions of "love," "friendship," "jealousy," "treachery," and "salvation" into the form of opera, the 64 edition suggested overcoming various "barriers" that arise between nationality, race, status, and gender. Why did Bach, a Protestant, write the Mass, a Catholic liturgical music, as his last work? It may have been motivated by Bach's pan-religious passion to transcend sectarian barriers. Following this passion, the program for the 65 th edition was designed to help people overcome ethnic and religious differences through various religious (related) music.
