Business Overview

This is the final chapter of the Weil Project, an opera production group led by director Egawa Tomomi, labo opera Carpetuza, which spent three years working on composer Kurt Weil. The representative opera "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonie" (1930) performed in partnership with Brecht is presented as an approach from the opera world for the first time in a long time. Profile

[labo opera Carpet Theater]
Established in 2005 as an opera production group led by director Megawa Tomomi. We will continue to create performances that will be a place for the cast and staff to experiment without being bound by conventional ideas. Since 2006, he has hosted 6 operas, 4 concerts, and various workshops. He received the 8th Keizo SAJI Award from the Suntory Music Foundation (currently the Japan Art Foundation) for his second performance "Fake Arlecchino/Campanello."
