Business Overview
It is an important role of theaters to provide performing arts to people who have limited opportunities to interact with them because of their disabilities. This project invites the Japan Deaf Theater Company, which is highly regarded in Japan and abroad for its sign language kyogen and is run by the Tot Foundation, a social welfare corporation established at the Kita Noh Theater by actress Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, to perform "Busshi" from its representative repertoire, as well as Kita-ryu noh "Kurozuka" with simultaneous sign language interpretation by the company. In addition, a sensory sound system provided by sound manufacturer Pioneer was introduced, and together with sign language, the possibility of seeing noh for the hearing-impaired was verified, and both hearing and non-hearing people aimed to enjoy together. This is the first ambitious attempt in the Nohgaku world to perform thrilling scenes of Aikyogen with the performer using sign language. 1. Commentary (with sign language interpretation) 2.
