Profile
Originally published in 2011 by Tada Junnosuke's Tokyo Death Rock. In this play, actors are replaced by choreographers and dancers to re-create a theatrical work that depicts human beings trying to regenerate through repetitive bodies.
A popular song repeated in succession, and the exhausted bodies of eight dancers dancing in sudden death. This work overturns the concept of dance by tearing down the basis and meaning of dance in its endless structure, highlighting the desperate need for "life" and the chaos of modern society.
This work started in 2015 as the first international collaboration with Singapore's Theatreworks. The following year, the "RE/PLAY Dance Edit Executive Committee" was established to promote the project. Created and performed by artists from Japan, Southeast Asia and East Asia.
