Business Overview

In 2016, 20 years after the death of Toru TAKEMITSU (1930-1996), he collaborated with Reigakusha (musical performance) and Saburo TESHIGAWARA (new choreography and dance) to create a stage production that can be transmitted from Japan to the world, based on one of his representative works, "Shuteiga Ichigu," which is famous as a masterpiece of modern gagaku. It is an ambitious performance that tackles the unprecedented expression of 'Shuteiga Ichigu' (Autumn Garden Poetry), which delves into the essence of Takemitsu's musical world and has a new visual appeal. The first half is' rodai ranmai, 'a reproduction of Sukeyasu SHIBA's composition, which combines pieces in the classical style of gagaku to reproduce a court feast. While Takemitsu's works symbolize the autumn garden (nature) with the novel resonance of modern gagaku, Shiba's works depict the elegant play (human activities) of ancient aristocrats with the resonance of classical style. These two works, which contrast favorably, express the large universe including people and nature using the entire space of the hall.
