Business Overview
The two-day festival "Noh Reimagined, The Contemporary Art of Classical Japanese Theatre" at Kings Place, London's new arts centre, is a platform for a wide range of audiences in the UK who have never experienced Noh before to discover the wonders of Noh as a classical performing art, as well as new values and possibilities of Noh that transcend cultural and artistic fields. What does noh, which influenced 20 century artists, mean to contemporary British artists? What kind of creative inspiration does Noh give them? In partnership with Sound and Music, two young British composers selected through an open call will premiere their new work in a six-month collaboration with a Japanese Noh actor. They will also collaborate with world-renowned saxophonist Evan Parker and leading female Remix artists. In addition, six artists from different fields such as visual art, theater, and sound installation will present and discuss works influenced by Noh and the influence of Noh.
