Business Overview

Booklet "Art Translation: What is Translation as an Act of Creation- (tentative)" The theme of this project is "What is Translation as an Act of Creation-". The purpose of this project is to publish a bilingual booklet of Japanese and English through interviews and dialogues with translators and interpreters who are currently active at the forefront of the Japanese art scene or artists who are engaged in creative activities with the theme of translation and interpretation. By translating and proofreading texts together with interviewees, we aim to improve the language environment in the field of art by learning about the ideas and attitudes that each interviewee has cultivated in practice. By bringing together the words of translators and interpreters who are directly exposed to cutting-edge discourse from a special standpoint, and those who share their thoughts, I expect that I will be able to shed light on the current situation and issues of Japanese art and translation and interpretation in this context from an unprecedented perspective. In addition, by holding open workshops and talk events before and after the interviews, we hope to exchange a wide range of ideas with as many people as possible and create new discourse and values in translation and interpretation.
