Business Overview
The Ryogoku Art Festival, now in its second year, welcomes Berlin-based composer/performer Tomomi Adachi as artistic director, and works on the realisation of historical works on two pianos, while commissioning new works from leading international musicians (including non-composers), including Adachi himself. In addition, he will collaborate with outstanding musicians such as Aki Kuroda, a pianist active in Milan and other parts of the world, and create a place for young Japanese musicians to engage in front-line contemporary music.

Profile
[Tomomi Adachi: Artistic Director (Concert Planning)]
Performer/composer. He has worked in a wide range of fields, including solo performances with voice, various sensors, computers and his own instruments, and has collaborated with Jaap Bronk, Nicholas Collins, Akira Sakata, Jennifer Walsh, Annette Krebs, Richard Barrett, M.C. Schmidt (Matmos), Yuji Takahashi, Satoshi Hitotsuyanagi, Takahiko Iimura, Kim Ito and Hiroshi Neko. He also has a career as an installation artist and filmmaker, and works on large ensemble projects with non-musicians. He composed many works for untrained voices and works using unusual notation. He stayed in New York in 2009-2010 with a grant from ACC, and was invited to Germany as a composer by DAAD in Berlin in 2012. He lives in Berlin.
