FY 2015 Phase I Tokyo Arts and Culture Promotion Grant (Single Year Grant Program)

Business Overview
Kogen, one of the world's largest festivals of temples and shrines, is a hands-on event where visitors can experience traditional Japanese culture at temples and shrines. About 100 workshops will be held, and although it is a large-scale festival that attracts 5000 people, it offers an experience that reaches each person's mind and body. There will also be talk shows, live performances, projection lighting, and other events targeting many audiences. Among them, the music performances of the super-sects and super-religions are precious and can only be seen in Kogen.

It is made by the planning volunteer staff of Kogen. In addition to guidance and reception, planning, administration, clerical work, and accounting are all managed by about 200 volunteers gathered through the website and word of mouth. Masaomi TOMOMITSU (Tendai sect), the representative, and Kakuho AOE (Jodo Shinshu sect), the deputy representative, are both young monks in their 30s, but the number of volunteers who agree with the philosophy of Kogen regardless of sects or religions has increased each time.
