Business Overview
Until 2013, Niwa Gekidan Penino owned 'Hakobune', a room in an old condominium in Shibuya as their studio, where they performed their representative works such as' Little Limbo's Restaurant ',' Irritating Adult's Picture Book 'and' Nobody Knows Your Room '. When this condominium was to be demolished due to aging, the stage set used in 'A Box in a Big Trunk' was created as a new 'Hakobune.'. This stage set consists of four kinds of small boxes arranged in a square on a rotating tray, and the scene develops as it rotates during the performance. In the future, they plan to use the Bon stage as a symbol of the troupe and hold more performances. The biggest feature of this bon stage is that you can move and set up a space called "hakobune" anywhere. Like the red tent of the Karagumi, for example, they want the stage to look like a big mechanical box and be recognized as "Penino, a garden theater group." Based on this space, we would like to send out the original and detailed world view of Niwa Gekidan Penino not only in Japan but also overseas.
