Business Overview

The "Nyotai Shakespeare" series of Shakespeare performances by only actresses, exploring the treatment of "women" in Shakespeare's works and the possibilities of "actresses" as presenters. Director Nakayashiki Norihito brings a new direction to the seventh installment of Richard III, which has been performed in various arrangements. The film focuses not only on Richard III, who plays the main role, but also on the women surrounding Richard, and presents the universality of Shakespeare's works and challenges to the present with a stylish production.

Profile

[Norihito Nakayashiki]
While still in high school, he won the Best Original Screenplay Award at the 49 National High School Drama Competition for his novel Macbeth. In 2006, he organized 'Kaki-kugukaku' (literally, guest eating persimmons) into a theatrical company, and since then he has been engaged in directing all of his plays. In addition to original productions, his activities continue to expand, including the production of collaborative productions with Caramel Box, joint productions between Japan and Korea, theater projects with children, original musicals, and the creation of Shakespeare's adaptation series "Shakespeare the Woman".
In 2012, he was selected by Parco Productions at the age of only 28, and was nominated as a finalist of the 57 Kishida Kunio Drama Award for his Kaki-kugukaku "Muhakaku."
