Profile
[Tokyo Kagurazaka Kumiai]
The organization was changed from Ushigome Sangyokai, the predecessor of our union, to Tokyo Kagurazaka Kumiai, which is made up of geisha unions and Japanese-style restaurants, and has remained to this day.
The Kagurazaka Odori was started in 1963 as "Ushigome Satsuki-kai," and was held every 1 to 3 years until 1993. After a period of suspension, it was restarted in 1999 as "Hana-no-kai". In 2007, the name was changed back to "Kagurazaka Odori," and this year marks 32 times. In 2011, "Kagurazaka Odori" was designated as a regional cultural property of Shinjuku Ward.
