Business Overview

This performance is part of the Contemporary Music Exhibition 2015, a series of concerts organized by the Contemporary Music Association of Japan. This is the third performance to introduce musicians who are already highly acclaimed overseas but have few opportunities to expand their activities in Japan. This time we will introduce violinist Takao Hyakudome, who is based in Belgium. He is good at interpreting and performing works using superlative techniques, and has become an indispensable member of various ensembles as well as solos. The program consists of new works written for him, new works by Takahiro KURODA, a young composer selected from the public, works by Georges Apergis, who is extremely popular in Europe, and works by Dmitry Kurlyantsky (Russia), who has been attracting attention in recent years, and so on, and they are almost world premieres or Japanese premieres. These include works using a five-string violin, which is Hyakudome's major attraction.
