Business Overview

This collage-like stage production centers on Higuchi Ichiyo's original "Nigorie" and incorporates Ichiyo's other works. The troupe also makes use of its own performance style, "Yotohan." In this performance, young members of the troupe, who often play roles to assist veterans, will create a new work. In addition to Ichiyo's text, I would like to insert dance scenes and short scenes inspired by Ichiyo's works, and as a whole, I would like to expose a comprehensive image of Ichiyo's world on the stage. Composition and direction: Masahiro Yasuda, Starring: Marie Ueda, Hotaka Mitsui, Mami Koshigaya, Miharu Abe, Eriko Oguri, Yosuke Tani, Ishiko Ishihara, Chikayo Tsujikawa, etc.

Profile

[Theater Company Yamanote Jijosha]
A performing arts group representing modern Japanese theater.
Formed mainly by Waseda University students in 1984.
The director is Yasuda Masahiro.
Since their formation, they have consistently searched for the form of modern theater through experimental performances.
In Ota Ward, Tokyo, there is a theater company headquarters that doubles as a private practice room. We continue our activities based on the philosophy of "Theater is nothing but a theater experience. The theater experience is a physiological experience of the literary image of the director and playwright. all elements of theater (actors, art, lighting, music, costumes) should serve the experience."
