Business Overview

The Sakichi Sato Theater Festival has been held every 2 years since 2004 when notable works and groups gather. This time, making use of the know-how accumulated over the past 10 years, it will be held as a large-scale theater festival in which theater works will be performed simultaneously for one month at five venues within a 150 m radius around the Oji Small Theater, in addition to the Oji Small Theater, which was the venue until now. Various promising young troupes selected by the Oji Small Theater will perform their programs. There will also be a talk lounge where artists and producers working at the forefront of the current theater scene will be invited, as well as a cafe where audiences can stay during the show.

The Oji Small Theater, which was established in 1998 by Sato Electric Co., Ltd. as a mecenat activity, is a theater that actively supports young artists. The Oji Small Theater established the executive committee in order to hold the 'Sato Sakichi Theater Festival,' named after the founder, as an invitation-type theater festival originating from theaters and not open to the public.
Research and selection of artists and organizations that can achieve higher performance results than the year-round project direction at Oji Small Theater. The theater festival has been held five times in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012.
