Business Overview

The venue, KARAS APPARATUS, was established in July 2013 as a place to create new expressions based on the artistic spirit of Saburo Teshigawara and KARAS. APPARATUS means equipment. It is a creative space with dance mats spread throughout the building, which is equipped with a hall, studio, and gallery on 3 floors of 1F, B1, and B2 although it is a small space. At Calas Apalatas, under the concept of "dances that are updated every day," they perform performances that reveal their daily pursuits and challenges as they are, and transmit their artistic spirit to the world from here. [Saburo Teshigawara]
After studying classical ballet, he began his own creative activities in 1981. In 1985, he formed KARAS to pursue new expressions that cannot be captured within the existing framework of dance, and he has performed many times at the invitation of major festivals and theaters not only in Japan but also in Europe, America, and other countries.
In addition to her own solo works and group works with KARAS, she has created works commissioned by leading European ballet companies such as the Paris Opera Ballet. He is highly regarded internationally as a world pioneer.
In addition, they have their own philosophy regarding dance education, and since before the foundation of KARAS, they have always held workshops, and to this day, they are focusing on training young dancers in Japan and overseas, and are also enthusiastic about creative activities with the new generation.
