Business Overview

This project aims to form a regular network among public and private theaters in Tokyo and to build a loose platform for those involved in theater and dance. Specifically, as a project in the first half of FY 2014, a series of 14 lectures will be held on themes such as "Theater and Society," "Understanding Contemporary Theater Around the World," "Theater Education Around the World," and "Professionals Active Overseas." The series will provide opportunities to develop active audiences and form an open network among theater and dance professionals.

The Center of the International Theatre Institute Japan (ITI-Japan) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Paris that specializes in theatre, and is one of the Japan Centers that comprise the world network of the International Theatre Institute (ITI/UNESCO). Established in 1951. It was incorporated in 1990. In July 2013, it was certified as a public interest incorporated association. Commissioned by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, it compiles and publishes the 'International Theater Yearbook' every year, and conducts research and studies on the international exchange of theater dance.
