Business Overview

An international collaboration between Indonesia and Japan. Choreographer Akiko Kitamura started her research in 2010, and this year marks her 3rd year as a stage creator. The theme is the "Right here." and attributes of the human body, and the bodies of Japan and Asia. With the diversity of Indonesia, where Javanese, Malay, and Hindu cultures coexist, and the regional character of Tokyo, which has a high degree of mixed culture, as its core, this theme will consider approaches to nature, religion, and science in everyday life. The original story, which is read from the artist's view of life and death, and the combination of modern technology and traditional techniques are turned into a stage production. It is a documentary structure that depicts the differences and similarities of social and cultural backgrounds in a multilayered manner through "dialogue" created by individual artists from different nationalities, religions, and ideologies with respect to a certain legend or myth. In addition, in these days when various forms of communication are possible, the author questions the ideal way of artistic collaboration that transcends national borders, and constructs the process itself as a collage of dialogues in search of a modern method of communication between artists at long distances.
