Business Overview

In Korea, newspaper companies and the Korea Drama Writers Association invite new playwrights every year under the title of “New Year Literary Drama. ”. Moz Project selected, translated and performed three of them based on certain criteria. Following on from last year's theme of "Family," this year's selection was based on the theme of "Dramatic Imagination in Short Stories." By performing works that have won awards at the New Year Literary Arts Awards, which serve as a gateway to success for new playwrights, young Korean writers will show how they reflect the current Korean society in their plays. In contrast to existing Japan-Korea theater exchanges, which have focused on works with relatively well-established reputations, this project presents the works of new playwrights who have just passed through the trailblazers to provide a foundation for thinking about how Korean theater will change in the future and how Japanese theater will relate to them.

Profile

[MOZU Project]
A theater group made up mainly of Japanese members who were attracted by the "breath acting theory" of the Korean director Lee Yoon-taek and studied at the performance group Koripe led by Lee Yoon-taek. The members are actors and directors who belong to stable and competent theater companies, or who have belonged to them in the past and are working as freelancers. Members discuss the selection, direction, and cast of the film. It also has the aspect of an association by actors for actors. We want to make our presence felt as a unique group in the small theater scene in Tokyo.
