Business Overview
The play "Shibahama no Leather Wallet," which was created from the classic rakugo story "Shibahama," is a world of life care that strongly conveys the lifestyles of the common people of Edo. This time, a dance called "Kotobuki Jishi," which has been handed down in the Yuki theater for a long time, is performed within the play, creating a gorgeous structure suitable for the new year. In addition, a puppet who plays the role of a rakugo storyteller appears in the play to remind the audience that the original story of the play is rakugo. The script and direction are provided by Ukon NISHIKAWA (a Japanese dancer and the third iemoto of the Nishikawa school), who has choreographed the puppets in the classic works of the Yukiza theater for the past 40 years.
