Business Overview

The Body Arts Laboratory (BAL) started as a proposal for a dance organization led by artists. The festival "Whenever Wherever Festival(WWFes)" is held every year as a trial form (platform) as a moving body. This is the fourth installment. WWFes has conducted a series of experiments to create an emergent community that works on the environment (infrastructure) surrounding physical expression that is not limited to stage expression, opens up a place for dialogue, and aims to deepen it. WWFes 2012 is divided into Part 1, which focuses on performances and events, and Part 2, which focuses on education programs. Part 1 (held from May to June) is the subject of this grant.

Established in 2008 as an artist-led dance organization (Director: Yamazaki Kota). In addition to holding the festival wwfes in Tokyo (2009-2015/2018), as a research activity, he publishes criticism and interviews mainly on the web. BAL aims to help artists communicate with each other.
