Business Overview
"Dance Triennale Tokyo 2012" is Japan's largest contemporary dance festival that started in 2002 and gathers choreographers and dancers from all over the world. This festival aims to broaden the scope of contemporary dance and enrich the cultural ground where new originality is born through exchanges with contemporary artists active in the world performing arts. More than 15 companies from 10 countries (Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Japan) participated in the event for the fifth time. In addition to performances at the Aoyama Amphitheater, Spiral Hall, and the Tokyo German Cultural Center, and dance workshops, a diverse program related to dance was held, including outdoor performances at Kodomo no jo Piloti, a dance showcase at the Spiral 1 F entrance facing Aoyama Street, dance films at the Theater Image Forum, a book fair at the Aoyama Book Center head office, and a symposium at the United Nations University.
