Business Overview
The theme of this concert was to "embrace" the different cultural backgrounds and roots of Western classical music and Japanese traditional music, and it was held as a 2 hour concert consisting of two parts, the first half and the second half, with a 15 to 20 minute intermission. The program is composed of existing music from each genre and original works by composer Hirano. In the original music, melodies and styles of existing music are quoted and reconstructed, and both traditions are fused while respecting their original form.
The concert was performed by young talents, mainly students and graduates of Tokyo University of the Arts, including three Japanese instrumentalists, including Ayako Kanisasare of the sho, five choral musicians, including Shunsuke Itaya, four string instrumentalists, including Saka Ogawa, three percussion instrumentalists, including Yuto Honda, and Naoko Asano of the chamber piano. A 40 voice motet composed by T. Tallis also experimented acoustically by synchronizing the recording with live music.
