The theme of the Ikebukuro Mirai International Film Festival is "support for young people," "regional revitalization," and "multicultural symbiosis." The festival is an event that brings young filmmakers and local residents closer to film culture through activities such as holding competitions to support young people in the field of film, special screenings of works that have been screened at independent cinemas and received attention, and symposiums on film. During the exhibition, the directors and actors of the films will give stage greetings. 【 NPO Ikebukuro Daimei 】
Since October 11, 2005, the non-profit organization Ikebukuro Daimei, consisting of local volunteers, has been managing and operating the old facilities of Toshima Ward Daiei Elementary School, which closed at the end of March 2005. At present, school facilities such as classrooms and gymnasiums are rented out mainly to local clubs, and many groups use it as their activity base. In addition, in addition to holding community exchange events, various lectures and seminars are held to create a gateway for lifelong learning.
