Picnic Dance Channel #1 Kuma Tanaka “Running to Cosmos”

Business Overview
Chicken Picnic Club, which started out as a dance artist's agency, and new artist Tanaka Kuma organized their first performance at a small theater in Tokyo, by the stream of Theatre Babylon. Running to Cosmos was co-produced by Nono Kinouchi, Seito Niwa, Shinno Hatakenaka, Masaya Fukunaga, and Kohei Fujimura (in alphabetical order) as guest artists, and had its premiere in early November 2024. It was a dance piece in which 3 performers meticulously passed each other for about 45 minutes in almost silence. While pretending to speak to the audience, his movements, which were not completely understood but somehow synchronized, evoked a new feeling.
The entire project was designed with an awareness of the network. For example, a commercial for a public relations cooperative organization was shown before the performance, an interview about the work was published, and an article looking back on conversations at a closed salon that had been held previously was published.
