Profile

Il Madrigarone
Il Madrigarone was founded in 2023 as a music group specializing in madrigale, one of the polyphonic compositions of the 16-17 century, and in the ensemble of ancient instruments. In order to make the sounds of ancient music familiar to more people, concerts and vocal music workshops are held in the Tokyo metropolitan area, which is a hub of culture. The aim is to provide old music entertainment that is open to the audience, and at the same time, to reconsider the current performance practices in Japan, and to explore all possibilities of old music performance practices while constantly incorporating the latest academic performance research. The members, who have studied both in Japan and overseas, are active in their fields as soloists, and also teach mixed choral and instrumental ensembles in Italian, French, and Latin in various places.
